Small Claddagh Pewter Jewelry Box made by Mullingar Pewter in Ireland. Lined in a deep red velvet, this jewlery box has beautiful, Celtic knorwork adorning the sides of the base of the box and the edges of the top. On the center of the lid sits a claddagh.

The story of the Claddagh goes back to the 1600s when the design was firt made in Claddagh on the edge of Galway City. By tradition it is taken to signify the wish that love and friendship should reign supreme. Two hands cradling a crowned heart: The Heart for Love, the Hands for Friendship, the Crown for Loyalty.
