Description

Monasterboice Celtic High Cross is found in Co. Louth  The Cross of Muiredach c. 10th century.  The abbey at Monasterboice features 3 high crosses, the most ornate being Muiredach’s Cross.  The cross stands 5.2m tall and is made of sandstone.  The theme of the cross is Christ the King Lord of the Earth.  Details from the cross include Adam and Eve in the Garden, Cain slaying Abel and the Last Judgement.
